I Survived

Hey everyone, I am still here and bubbling- many sleepless nights as we transition back to Lagos…I just want to say I survived 3 months of motherhood to twins….I am still alive lol. Someone was telling me about a couple whose marriage didnt survive having triplets as the care of the children was beyond stressful. I am still of the opinion folks should wait at least a year into marriage to have kids.
Some days have been harder than others. Finding nannies in Lagos might even be more tedious than actual delivery…if they don’t have one illness, they have brain touch or they want $600 per month. Heck if someone offered me $600 per month I would be like when do I start in this economy?

On another note I have a question – for those with public instagram pages who showcase their children do they ever query their followership? I have a private page and put up pictures of the girls every now and then but to those who do, I ask what is the motivation? Someone was saying that he believes that half of the followers of childrens pages are paedophiles- your thoughts?

On that note just one picture before I leave you to share your thoughts

  1. Ooooh see the adorable babies! May God bless them abundantly now and always. Thank God you survived.

Yes, I believe pedophiles are everywhere and use social media for nefarious purposes. One just has to be as careful as possible.

  7. Raising kids in Nigeria is easier compared to living abroad cos it’s easier to get hired help here. For my 1st child alone , I had 2 nannies plus a very hands on husband. As for finding a good nanny, it takes time (start looking even before the babies are born) and plenty of prayers. Yes, I agree that they have brain touch sometimes but that’s all part of dealing with humans.
When your child is older ( above 6 months) , considering a day care isn’t a bad idea, some these days come with cctv so you can monitor their every move.
As for the couple whose marriage didn’t survive triplets…I’m sure there were other underlying reasons there that caused the demise of the marriage, selfishness being the major factor. I don’t really see waiting to have kids as a major factor if both parties are totally open to it and mature enough to deal with it.
The 1st year of child raising is the toughest!
I’m sure you’ll survive! All the best.
